Although the income generated through tea which is one of the main crops in the island is beneficial for our economy and the big companies owning plantations, it has hardly any significance on the lives of tea plantation workers who still remain as one of the most poorly paid workers in the organised sector. 

‘The Kahata’ national exhibition portraying the livelihood of plantation workers and their hardships, was held at the Lionel Wendt Art Gallery. The exhibition, which was launched yesterday (26), concluded today (27). This was organized in collaboration with several organizations including Centre for Policy Alternatives, Uva Shakthi Foundation and Strengthening Reconciliation Processes in Sri Lanka.

‘தேயிலை சாயம்’ என்ற தொனிப்பொருளில் மலையக இளைஞர் யுவதிகளின் புகைப்பட திறமையை வௌிப்படுத்தும் வகையிலான புகைப்பட கண்காட்சி கொழும்பில் 26ம் 27ம் திகதிகளில் இடம்பெறுகிறது.  லயனல் வென்ட் கலை நிலையத்தில் நடைபெறும் இந்த புகைப்பட கண்காட்சியை மாற்றுக் கொள்கைகளுக்கான மத்திய நிலையம், ஊவா சக்தி நிதியம், எஸ்ஆர்பி போன்ற அமைப்புக்கள் ஏற்பாடு செய்துள்ளன. 

மலையக மண்வாசனை சொல்லும் மலையக இளைஞர், யுவதிகளின் புகைப்பட கண்காட்சி இன்று 23 ஆம் திகதி தலவாக்கலை ஶ்ரீ கதிரேசன் கோயில் மண்டபத்தில் நடைபெறுகின்றது. தேயிலை சாயம் எனும் தொனிப்பொருளின் கீழ் நடைபெறும் இக்கண்காட்சியை காலை 8.30 மணி முதல் மாலை 5.30 மணிவரை பார்வையிடமுடியும் என நிகழ்வு ஏற்பாட்டுக்குழு அறிவித்துள்ளது.
